WELCOME TO MY CLOSET ^-^
This is a collection of my physical creations! From sewing to quilting to cardboard models and more! My grandma began teaching me to sew when I was four years old. I didn't get decent at it until seven years later LOL! Now I love making dolls and editing my wardrobe. Most of my other physical pieces are impulsive dives into whatever art form catches my eye. Recently, I've been super into collages as a therapuetic exercise.
AND NEVER FORGET... fashion can come from destruction. Hate that normie t-shirt in your closet? TEAR IT APART!
SKELETON DRESS
This dress was so fun to work on but OH MY GOD. SO MUCH APPLIQUE! I started with a pre-made black dress but the skeleton design was worked up from scratch. My initial mockup was drawn in jspaint, based on the Stellaire Skeleton Puffer Jacket.
You can see I pretty heavily pulled from this design haha... There's something about the soft, rounded edges that is so on point. I think my extra special touch was the shoulder blades on the back. They're kinda reminscent of tiny wings. After I finished the dress, I wanted to start on a pair of matching leg warmers. I had to do this from scratch and I wanted to mess with flaring.
The elastic band ended up being pretty unnecessary because of the stretchy knit I used. Unfortunately -_-u I gave up after I finished the first leg warmer. DAMN INNATENTION! So until I finish the set, here's the results.
Because of a mix up in stitching, I had a gross exposed seam! It ended up being a good opportunity because I love the pearled safety pin cover-up :3 YAY! The leg warmer isn't exactly the shape I want, but the fold-over kneecap worked out perfectly. Super cute.
ZAXBY
Zaxby is a little buddy to curl up around my shoulders and keep my neck warm. I love the gross granduer of being wrapped up in a white rabbit spitting up blood. He was inspired by Alma's bloody stole in Why Women Kill.
The Jot... 2!
I made this top while I was in the middle of a move. I was completely stir crazy and UGH! My favorite pair of jeans got wrecked. I reycled them into this :) I handstiched through, like, four layers of denim and bruised my nail beds. Worth it.
